The inaugural USA Pro Cycling Challenge brings the best of the best in cycling to the U.S., with riders facing breath-taking altitudes up to 12,000 feet above sea level along a 500-mile stage course over seven days. The race is managed by event management company Medalist Sports and sanctioned by the International Cycling Union (UCI). The race will kick off in Colorado Springs on Monday, August 22, 2011 with a prologue, a short individual time trial used to determine which rider wears the leader's jersey on the first stage. The final stage will finish on Sunday, August 28, 2011 on Broadway next to the State Capitol Building in Denver, Colo.
