Package includes a two-bedroom villa for the price of a one-bedroom, representing a savings of up to 33%
Travel + Leisure® magazine recently announced the results of its World's Best Awards for 2011, which honors the top hotels, cities, islands, cruise lines and airlines worldwide. This year, Charleston, S.C. was rated the No. 2 best city to visit in the U.S. and Canada, the highest-ever ranking for Charleston on T+L's annual list.
ResortQuest Charleston announced the "2 Sea Charleston History Package" for visitors wishing to see the grand city and its sea islands for themselves.
The generous lodging package gives visitors the opportunity to book a two-bedroom villa for the price of a one-bedroom villa on Kiawah Island, Seabrook Island or Isle of Palms, representing a savings of up to 33% off. The package also includes a $25 grocery card to help guests supplement their food budgets, and a 10% discount on bicycle rentals for those looking for a peaceful evening ride after dinner at the villa. This special rate is available now through Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011.
"Known for its beautiful vistas, friendly residents and genteel spirit, Charleston is a city of historical significance and modern sensibilities,” said Ian Harris, Charleston director of sales and marketing, ResortQuest by Wyndham Vacation Rentals. "We believe the ‘2 Sea Charleston History Package' will allow visitors to discover what Charleston's islands have to offer as well, from celebrity-designed golf courses and top-rated tennis to miles of sandy beaches.”
The barrier islands of Seabrook, Kiawah and Isle of Palms skirt the southern coast of South Carolina. Kiawah is a private gated community featuring celebrity-designed golf courses and more than 30 miles of paved bike trails. The private island of Seabrook is one of the only places on the East Coast where you can horseback ride on the beach. More world-class golf courses are found on Isle of Palms, as is a full-service marina and Front Beach at the Isle of Palms with its assortment of waterfront restaurants, boutiques and bars.
The winners of Travel + Leisure's World's Best Awards were determined by responses from Travel + Leisure readers to a specially developed questionnaire. The list of Top Cities was determined by readers' responses concerning six characteristics: sights, culture/arts, restaurants/food, people, shopping and value. Charleston ranked No. 3 and No. 4 on the list in 2010 and 2009 respectively. The complete World's Best Awards 2011 results are featured online at www.travelandleisure.com/worldsbest and in Travel + Leisure's August issue, available on newsstands now.
