ResortQuest Welcomes ESPN to The Inn at Aspen for Winter X Games 15

ResortQuest's Inn at Aspen to serve as official host hotel for the ESPN Winter X Games' television production and event staging operations for the 10th consecutive year.

Sitting square at the foot of Buttermilk Mountain, ResortQuest's Inn at Aspen holds a unique position as the only ski-in/ski-out lodging at Buttermilk Ski Resort in Aspen, Colorado. And since 2002, Buttermilk Mountain has been the official home of the Winter X Games. So, it's only natural that ESPN would select The Inn at Aspen as the base of operations for its television production and event-staging operations for a 10th consecutive year.

Weeks of preparation go into transforming The Inn at Aspen hotel into a broadcasting hub for the highly anticipated four-day event, which will run January 27-30. ESPN crews began converging on the hotel in early January, converting virtually every inch of The Inn at Aspen's 5,000 square feet of meeting space into a high-tech media command center. With more than 43 million viewers tuning in to watch the Winter X Games last year, it is imperative that operations inside the hotel run as cleanly as the performances out on the snow.

Did you know that 90% of Americans who propose a New Year's resolution decide to get in better shape? If you are one of those people — did you know that only 1% actually follow through? So, to keep this new goal, I decided to research ways to make the "Exercise" word a bit more fun, and they are perfect activities to do while in Breckenridge.

Here are great workouts that take place around Breckenridge that you can do while on vacation!

On Monday, in Frisco at the Alpine Dance Academy, dance teacher extraordinaire Kelly Monohan taught me and a few other brave moms Hip Hop for one hour. We basically learned about 1 minute of dance moves in those 60 minutes... to the top-40 hit remake of the Dirty Dancing super song — "I Had the Time of My Life," — new version by Flo Rida.

Originally published Tuesday, January 18, 2011 —

It was a beautiful, clear, cold night in Steamboat Springs, and my boyfriend and I were headed for what was going to be a fabulous romantic evening. He surprised me by getting dinner reservations at Hazie's. Hazie's Restaurant is located at the top of the gondola on the Steamboat Ski Resort. Luckily for me he didn't pack the snowshoes (it would have been a long hike), but instead we took a nighttime gondola ride.

We walked into the gondola area and were greeted by happy lift operators who were quick to assist you into the gondola and promptly supply you with warm blankets for your ride up the mountain. As the gondola car rode higher and higher, the views of Steamboat were enchanting. It seemed our quaint little town was lit up just for us!

Hazie's is a lovely gourmet restaurant with great service, knowledgeable staff and views to die for! When you book your reservation with our concierge, try to ensure you have a table right next to the windows! The menu is delicious with lovely varied choices, from Spicy Thai Prawns to Filet of Buffalo. Hazie's wine menu is quite large with unique wine choices that can be perfectly paired with your dinner choices.

After a delectable dinner and a lovely night out, we once again boarded the gondola for another perfect view of Steamboat at night.

When you stay with us at ResortQuest Steamboat we want to ensure you know all the best activities to do in Steamboat so your vacation will be perfect! Contact our Concierges to book any of your Steamboat activities with your lodging. After your perfect romantic night, return to a luxury vacation rental to cuddle by the fire and enjoy your vacation! On the Fly — Not!

ResortQuest Charleston Blog,
Originally published Friday, January 7, 2011 —

Fly Fishing is anything but — "On the Fly." It is peaceful, relaxing and demands a slowdown to the pace of the ebb and flow of the flood tide.

This is not to say that the sport is without excitement. In the numerous shallow waterways surrounding Charleston and her barrier islands... there is truly an adrenaline rush in seeing a big redfish tail pop up about 20 yards away from your small flats boat or kayak.

Charleston is just plain and simply — fly fishing heaven.

Cowboy Downhill Steamboat Springs 2011 — It's A Wild Ride

Welcome to Steamboat Springs where the cowboys are alive and well! We like to keep our cowboys on their toes in this Western town, so once a year a one-of-a-kind event is held just for those men of the west — the Annual Cowboy Downhill. January 18, 2011 is the day to watch the cowboy chaos ensue!

This is one of the craziest events you'll ever see — We take a ski hill, a couple of jumps, a few course flags, some skis and snowboards, and then you mix in a lot western — horses, saddles, ropes and a beautiful cowgirl. Shake 'em all together and you get some inexperienced cowboys trying to ski while racing to the bottom through the race course, off jumps, to saddle a horse, rope the fair lady and make it to the finish line... YEE HAW!
